In June 2014, Stewart J. Eisenberg and Daniel J. Sherry, Jr. tried a case in Philadelphia against Honda and the jury returned a verdict or $55.3 million for their clients. The verdict was the highest awarded in Pennsylvania in 2014 and the 10th largest personal injury verdict in the country.
The case involved a man who became a quadriplegic after his vehicle manufactured by Honda rolled over in an accident and his seat belt failed to protect him. At trial, Eisenberg and Sherry successfully argued that an alternatively designed seatbelt would have prevented their client’s head from striking the roof in the rollover accident. The jury agreed with Eisenberg and Sherry and awarded the man and his family $55.3 million.
