Stronger Than Hate
We were shocked and saddened to learn of the senseless tragedy that occurred at the Tree of Life Synagogue near Pittsburgh this past weekend. This is just the latest in what has become an all too often senseless loss of life at the hands of deranged radicals. Whether the deaths occur as a result of shootings at schools, churches, mosques, concerts or malls we all must speak out and join together to put an end to these horrific acts of cowards. We mourn for the families and friends of the victims and pause, yet again, to contemplate why bad things happen to good people. People who mean no harm to others but, instead, simply wish to live peaceful lives,.
The hatred and bigotry that fueled these mass shooting, are antithetical to the values of a civilized society and undermine democracy as we know it. We must strive to build a society in which all persons live in harmony by shining the light of tolerance, understanding, and love for our fellow human beings into the darkest places where hatred, bigotry, racism, and anti-Semitism grow.
The resolve to build a better community remains strong but, with hate becoming more normalized, the increasing regularity hate incidents requires all of us to remain vigilant. Most unfortunately, the rhetoric and messaging from some of our leaders has been inciteful and wrong. Now, more than ever, we must unite and stand together in addressing all forms of hate.
This law firm works day in and day out to achieve justice for our clients. We have and will continue to support those who wish to build rather than divide. The great poet Leonard Cohen wrote: “There is a crack in everything, that is how the light gets in.”
We hope that you will join us in thoughts and prayers for the latest victims of hate. Hopefully, we will all have the strength to move forward to find light through the cracks and to fight hate and bigotry by supporting those leaders who strive to maintain democracy and rule of law as we know it.
