Honda, Nissan, Mazda and Toyota Issue Recall for Defective Airbags

 

Three of the world’s largest automakers have recalled millions of automobiles for a defect . The airbag manufactured by the Takata Corporation has a defect that could cause the airbag to explode. The automakers were notified of the defective airbag last year and issued recalls but were recently notified by the Takata Corporation that not all defective vehicles were recalled.

 

 

Honda has recalled just over 2 million vehicles and named the following model years in the recall:

2000 – 2005 Honda Fit 2000 – 2005 Honda Element 2000 – 2005 Honda CR-V

Nissan has recalled 755,000 vehicles and named the following model years in the recalls:

2001 – 2003 Nissan Cube 2001 – 2003 Nissan X-Trail

Mazda has recalled 160,000 vehicles and named the following model years in the recalls:

2002 – 2004 Mazda Atenza 2002 – 2004 Mazda RX-8

Toyota has recalled 2.27 million vehicles and named the following model years in the recalls:

2001 – 2003 Toyota Corolla 2001 – 2003 Toyota Matrix 2001 – 2003 Toyota Tundra 2001 – 2003 Toyota Yaris 2001 – 2003 Toyota Camry
