What’s Wrong with Autoliv’s Seat Belts and Airbags?

As of this writing, Autoliv has told US safety regulators that the reason for the potential auto recall is because of glitches involving the inflators in Autoliv airbags and the pretensioners in Autoliv’s seat belts. Pretensioners tighten seat belts in vehicles to ensure passengers and drivers are secure in case of an auto accident.

Autoliv has yet to go into detail about what the problem is with its airbag inflators and seat belt pretensioners. Reportedly, the automaker discovered the auto defects during internal testing, and so far, there have not been any reports of auto accidents or injuries related to these issues.

Filing a product liability claim can enable victims to hold negligent automakers and auto parts manufacturers accountable for the financial burden that incident has caused them.
