Ken Rothweiler, Fred Eisenberg, and Todd Schoenhaus reached a $9 million settlement with a trucking company after two years of litigation, an intense mediation, and with trial set to begin in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
Our client, a 44 year old single mother, was traveling to work when a tractor trailer crossed over the center line and struck her car in a head-on collision. It was discovered that the 71 year old truck driver had a history of medical issues and safety violations, was overly fatigued behind the wheel, and should not have been permitted by his employer to operate its commercial vehicle.
As a result of the accident, our client suffered a traumatic brain injury and broke multiple bones throughout her body. She had to undergo numerous operations and was hospitalized for months at a time. She is permanently unable to work or care for herself and has been forced to live with family members since the accident. The $9 million settlement will help provide the care that our client will need for the rest of her life.
