Stewart Eisenberg has been named the 2005 Milton D. Rosenberg Award Honoree by the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association (PaTLA)

Stewart J. Eisenberg, a shareholder in the Philadelphia law firm of Eisenberg, Rothweiler, Winkler, Eisenberg & Jeck, P.C., has been named the 2005 Milton D. Rosenberg Award Honoree by the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association (PaTLA). The award will be presented at PaTLA’s Annual Convention July 9 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at Penn’s Landing. PaTLA’s Rosenberg Award is given annually to a trial lawyer whose devotion to injured victims, qualities of leadership and service to the organization best represent the life of the late and revered PaTLA past president, for whom the award is named.

In announcing Eisenberg as this year’s award winner, PaTLA President John M. Gallagher called him a “stalwart leader and tireless volunteer for PaTLA, a skillful litigator, and true believer in the right of injured consumers.” “Over his long and distinguished career, Stewart Eisenberg has remained deeply committed to the causes of victims.  PaTLA is proud to present Stewart with the Rosenberg Award.”

A trial lawyer for more than 25 years, Eisenberg’s legal background ranges from medical malpractice to automobile law to personal injury to product liability. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (cum laude) and Temple University School of Law where he received the Barrister’s Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and wrote for the Law Quarterly. He currently concentrates his practices in the area of medical negligence, auto crashworthiness, mass torts, and bad faith claims, but he is knowledgeable about all areas of personal injury litigation. An experienced litigator, he has handled jury trials in many jurisdictions having successfully obtained large verdicts and settlements for his clients.

He is a past president of PaTLA, a current member of its Board of Governors, and has held every PaTLA leadership office. He is a past chair of LawPAC and is a current member of the LawPAC Victory Club. In addition, he has served on many PaTLA committees and practice related groups including the Task Force on Products Liability, Administrative Oversight, Budget and Finance, and Legislative Policy committees. He has published numerous articles in The Barrister, PaTLA’s magazine, and has lectured for PaTLA at over 25 seminars on topics including medical negligence, bad faith, jury selection, and juror bias, trial tactics, product liability, evaluating cases, legal ethics, premises liability, and more. Eisenberg’s partners and colleagues at his firm also share his commitment to PaTLA by volunteering on committees, filling leadership roles, lecturing, and writing.

In addition to his work for PaTLA, he is a prominent member of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, where he serves on its Board of Directors and has spoken at seminars and served on various committees including Fundraising and the Musmanno Committee. He is affiliated with many other professional groups including the Pennsylvania Bar Association, where he is a member of its Civil Litigation Section; the Philadelphia Bar Association; the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, where he is a sustaining member and serves a Leader’s Forum; and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Arbitration Association Panel of Arbitrators, the Roscoe Pound Institute, Trial Lawyers for Public Justice, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the American College of Barristers, the Senior Counsel of the College of Master Advocates and Barrister, Tau Epsilon Rho Law Society, and the National Coalition of Victims, Attorneys and Consultants. He is also listed as a “Pennsylvania Super Lawyer.”

Eisenberg is also very active in his community. He is a past member of the Board of School Directors of Cheltenham Township and has coached Jay Vees Soccer and Little League Baseball. He is a founding member, current board member, and Capital Campaign Chair of Congregation Kol Ami in Elkins Park. He was a Board Member of the Federation of Allied Jewish Appeal Young Leadership and the Young Men’s Cabinet. He’s been a board member of Hillel of Greater Philadelphia, and a past chair of the Law Academy of the School District of Philadelphia.

He resides in Philadelphia.
