Stewart Eisenberg Appears on 6 ABC to Discuss Chrysler Bankruptcy
Stewart Eisenberg and his client Terri Cartier were featured on 6 ABC’s Consumer Report regarding the impact the bankruptcy of Chrysler will have on plaintiff injury claims.
The deal between the Federal Government and Chrysler has relieved the company from paying any money from pending or potential lawsuits for any defective vehicle manufactured before the bankruptcy filing. As a result of the agreement, innocent and injured victims have lost their right to be compensated for their injuries. Auto makers defend hundreds of death and injury claims each year and many, like Terri Cartier, have severe and permanent injuries that require a lifetime of care.
The seatbelt in the vehicle that Terri Cartier was driving released when she was in an accident and she was thrown out her driver’s window. She suffered multiple broken bones, both lungs collapsed and as a result of her injury she will never be able to work again. The seatbelt in her vehicle is known to be defective and any pressure that is placed on the belt will cause it to release and leave those riding in the vehicle defenseless from serious and permanent injuries.
