Stewart Eisenberg appeared in The Legal Intelligencer and discussed his plans for The Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association as its President in 2009-2010.
As President Stewart hopes to advocate for legislation that prevents tort reform, increases automobile insurance coverage, and push for health care reform that does not limit the rights of patient. Support of such legislation will allow Stewart and his fellow trial lawyers to continue their mission of protecting the rights of injured individuals.
Eisenberg will also push for more pro bono service by the trial lawyers. Throughout his term as president, Eisenberg will encourage members to donate their time to organizations such as Volunteers for the Indigent Program (VIP). Eisenberg is encouraging lawyers to dedicate their time to act as a mediator on a volunteer basis to save the First Judicial Court scarce resources in these tough economic times.
Eisenberg will also be expanding PTLA’s Diversity Program. PTLA will reach out to law schools and bar association organizations to participate in their diversity programs.
